Another Scary Moment

Yes, we are just full of scary moments. Today as I was waiting for Chandler to get out of the car at our last visiting teaching appointment (Becky), Chandler was taking his sweet time. He looked down and said, "Mommy, fire, fire." He was pointing to my feet; I was standing in a fire ant pile (at the neighbors, not Beckys). So I quickly picked him up, set him on the sidewalk and told him to follow Kate in the house. I saw Kate running in the house and assumed he ran after her as I looked down and tried to get all the ants off of my foot and sandal. I went to the door and asked if Chandler had run in, but they said no. I went back outside just in time to see Chandler run back across the street. He ran across, because he saw the park, and got scared when I didn't follow him so he crossed back. Luckily, there were no cars, but HOLY COW that scared me! He got a big talking to after that.

I've had some ask me where I got my skin, and I think it's called One Cute Blog, and there's another one called Cute Blog. There are a lot of skins. I followed the link from a friend's blog.
Feel free to comment, that way I know who's looking!

Easter!!

We had a great Easter. The boys thought it was so fun to hunt for Easter eggs this morning, and they sure thought the Easter Bunny was funny with all of his funny hiding spots. They found eggs in the laundry, in the couch, and everywhere in between. We also gave them a new shirt and tie to where to church.

By the way, I think I'm finally sort of catching on to this blogging thing. I now have music, a skin, and have even figured out how to put my pictures with the blog, but am still confused as to why it still looks the way it does. I've never figured anything out by just messing around with it, but thanks to all of you who said, "just mess around with it, and you'll figure it out" - who knew?

Chandler - the next Tom Cruise

Lately, Chandler has been very funny with his clothes. As soon as we got home from church today, he grabbed his pants and pulled them off, and started running around the house like he'd been trapped in them all day. What was funny is that he didn't want to change his shirt, so we gave him a pair of sunglasses and started snapping pictures.

Scary

Talk about scary! The other day I went to put Chandler down for a nap. This usually takes a few minutes, so I told Dekan to run and find something to do for just a few minutes while I put Chandler to sleep. It was seriously only 5 minutes later. I walked outside of the room and softly started calling Dekan's name. I progessively got louder and louder, because he wasn't answering. Of course the worst things begin to cross my mind, and I started to yell, "Dekan this is not a game, WE ARE NOT PLAYING HIDE AND SEEK - COME OUT NOW!!" He's never done this before, so I was very worried. Finally, I decided to check the garage, I opened it up and the big garage door was open. I thought someone got into the house and took him, so I ran to get the phone and started dialing Dave. When he answered, I called Dekan one more time, and he said, "what?" He had gone into the garage, opened up the garage door with the opener in the van, and went to the backyard to play in the sandbox. I was so relieved, but here's the kicker - I used to do this to my mom all the time! My mom tells me stories of me (about this age) that I used to run away constantly. So much, that she tied me to a post outside the house one day so I wouldn't run away. She always said she hoped I'd get a child just like me. I hope that's not true when my kids are teenagers or I'm going to lose it!

FRUSTRATION

Will someone please help me figure this out. I've been playing with layouts and stuff for awhile and I don't understand how to switch it all up! AAARRRGGGGHHHH!

When I grow up . . .

Dekan's been quite the character lately. Last Saturday, we were driving in the car on our way to Home Depot, and Dekan asked, "Mom, what are you?" I said, "I'm a girl." "No, mom, Dad's a banker, what are you?" I explained I was a mom, and a wife, and a homemaker. So, I asked, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" "Mom, I want to be first." I thought that was an okay goal.

THE SNOW MUST HAVE MADE A MISTAKE

On the way to take Dekan to preschool today, he said, "Mom, the snow must have been mistaken. I bet it didn't know that we were in Texas, because it doesn't snow in Texas, it must have made a mistake."

Here's a picture of what we've been doing all last week leading up to our snow day.

Snow Day in Texas

First time blogger - trying to figure it out all on my own - hopefully it goes well. The idea is to write all the things that go on around here, including pictures, and then make it into a paper journal. Maybe it will save us some time.

Well, it finally snowed here in Texas!! Our first snowfall of the winter, and Dekan and Chandler could hardly stand it - they were so excited! Chandler wouldn't run around in the snow, he just wanted Dad to hold him, but Dekan was racing and throwing snowballs. The kid who won't eat anything tried snow! He liked it.
